Here is an early Military Bugle wearing a circular badge with the trademark: "John Grey & Sons, London, H.P."A bugle is one of the simplest brass instruments, with no keys. They were used as a signalling and communications device to relay instructions from officers to soldiers during battle. It is also sounded at military funerals to indicate the soldier has gone to his final resting place. This bugle is made of copper and brass, it has the mouthpiece and a small suspension chain attached. It has some tarnishing with several dents and dings, but considered in very good condition for it's age. Measures approx. 11" tall X 7.25" wide X 4" wide. Thank you for looking
