First issued in 1997 the Platinum Eagle has quietly become a favorite among savvy U.S. coin collectors due to the fact that they traditionally have very low mintages. Last year, the U.S. Mint created a special three-year series for the Proof Platinum Eagle aptly named 'The Preamble to the Declaration of Independence.' The first coin of the series appeared last year with the beautiful 'Life' design, followed by this years highly anticipated 'Liberty' design. It portrays Lady Liberty in the foreground, keeping watch over prairies, lakes, and mountains as pioneers head westward in the background. Lady Liberty's lips are parted, symbolizing freedom of speech.
Struck at the West Point Mint, this 2019 W 0 Proof Platinum Eagle has been certified a perfect PR70 DCAM by PCGS with the additional pedigree of the First Strike First Day of Issue designation! A very limited opportunity...according to the PCGS pop report this has a PCGS population of ONLY 75!!
